Weight Loss Shake Recipes

Weight Loss Shake Recipes - Here are some weight loss shake recipes that will help you get into shape by cutting down on heavy food items. With these easy to make homemade shakes, you can get all the nutrients that your body needs...

Weight loss shakes are a nice way of substituting a heavy breakfast in the morning with something more healthy, and quick to prepare. There's really nothing to it, except getting into the habit of having these shakes instead of greasy breakfast food like bacon and eggs or chocolate / maple covered pancakes and so on. To get into shape during a low-fat diet, one has to cut down on food intake so as to not allow the stomach from expanding too far out, thus leading to bloating. Don't eat until you feel full - eat till your hunger pangs are eliminated. These shake recipes will help you in losing a few pounds around the waistline, as well as offer you something delicious to sip on before your day begins / during lunchtime.

Weight Loss Shakes for Women

Women who find themselves rushing out the door, without having to prepare an elaborate spread before them in the morning, can turn to these weight loss shake recipes to substitute a heavy breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so keep it in mind, that substituting a shake for your morning meal, cannot be done on a regular basis. Sometimes you need to make that switch during your lunch hour instead. You can prepare the shake when the ingredients are nice and cold. Carry it to work or class in a thermos to keep it that way. Here are some shakes that are sure to get you lip smacking.

What You Need

  • Food processor
  • 4 tangerines
  • 2 medium-sized red apples
  • ½ a cup of low-fat milk (skimmed)
  • 2 tablespoons of low-fat cream
  • 1 sachet of stevia (use another if needed)

Method

  • Peel the tangerines and slice up the apples in small pieces (keep the skin on for fiber)
  • Keep the tangerine sections and apples slices aside, and move on to mixing the other ingredients.
  • In the food processor, put in the low-fat milk, low-fat cream and the stevia.
  • Close the lid, and give it a brief whirl.
  • Drop in the tangerines and apples, closing the lid again, giving the contents a good 15 second whirl.
  • Open the food processor, taste the shake with one finger and adjust the sweetness if required.
  • If the shake is too thick for you, give it some extra whirls, and then afterward, empty the contents into a tall glass.

You can top off your shake with mint leaves to give it a subtle fresh punch in flavor, or throw in some crushed pine nuts. Like I mentioned earlier, you can switch a solid food lunch to a filling shake instead.

What You Need

  • Food processor
  • Grater
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 big chunks from
  • ½ a watermelon (you can use pineapple instead if you'd like)
  • 1 sachet of stevia (if needed) 1 tablespoon of grated coconut (not powdered) (optional).

Method

  • In the food processor, drop in the four chunks of melon - make sure you de-seed them.
  • Roll the lemon on the countertop or between your palms, to get the juice out better. Then slice it open and squeeze out all the juice, avoiding the seeds from dropping into the processor.
  • Take the grater and lightly grate the skin side of the lemon once. The lemon zest will intensify that lemony flavor to just the right amount.
  • Drop in the one tablespoon of grated coconut, and give the contents a good whirl for about 15 seconds.
  • Pour out the contents into a tall glass and garnish with mint leaves if you'd like. The coconut gives the shake a more tropical touch to it, but if you aren't into that coconut-y flavor, then exclude it from your shake.

You can also add any of your favorite whey protein powders to the shakes in the product's instructed amount. If it is flavored like vanilla or chocolate, don't add the fruits but include the rest of the low-fat items, topping it off with cherries or pomegranate.

Weight Loss Shake Recipe Using Vegetables

You need to include vegetables in your weight loss diet, so try out vegetable shakes as well, instead of fruit-based ones all the time. This is one of many weight loss shakes that work.

What You Need

  • Food processor
  • Grater
  • 1 cup of low-fat yogurt
  • ½ a lemon
  • Juice extracted from two oranges
  • ¼ teaspoon of grated ginger
  • ½ cup of carrot juice
  • ½ cup of grated carrots
  • pinch of salt
  • one teaspoon of flaxseed oil

Method

  • Blend all the ingredients together in a food processor, and add salt last to taste.
  • You can substitute carrot by using cucumbers with mint leaves or tomatoes with lemon zest shreds.

Use these weight loss shake recipes as a way of keeping yourself and others healthy, being good replacements for heavy breakfasts/lunches. These two meals are important, so try alternating the shakes between the two, and not just during the day.
